Core Responsibilities
Western Vet Group’s technician assistants use their skills and education to the highest extent of their abilities. These accomplished individuals have proven proficiency and talents across multiple platforms, such as:

  • Technical proficiency in friendly or fear-free patient handling
  • Administering medications, vaccines and other treatments
  • Assisting veterinary technicians with radiographs and ultrasound procedures
  • Collecting and preparing samples for submission to outside laboratories and/or in-house testing
  • Feeding, walking, medicating, bathing, and grooming patients
  • Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, and exam rooms
  • Restocking supplies and doing laundry
  • Collecting patient history and vitals for technician appointments and treatments
  • Maintaining and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment
  • Maintaining accurate patient medical records for all technician appointments
  • Client education

Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of related Technician Assistant OR kennel experience with companion animals (cats and dogs).
  • You will be working in a progressive and fast-paced environment, must be a positive team player and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be well-versed in animal restraint.
